Contributed by Winslow Historical Preservation Committee

Description

A view to the northwest of flooding shows flooding in Winslow in 1936.

The water in the foreground is the Sebasticook River. The Texaco tanks are located on the site that is now Fort Halifax park, with much of the Fort Point area submerged.

Farther out, the water is of the Kennebec River. The houses ranged along the distant bank are in Waterville. The area on the left is the confluence of the Kennebec and Sebasticook rivers.
