Description
The image above is the Winslow High School cast of the Oscar Wilde play, "The Importance of Being Earnest". Though there were other one-act plays during the year, this was the centerpiece school play. It was performed three times at different locations: Winslow High School auditorium, Erskine Academy, and Citizens' Hall in North Vassalboro. Performances took place during February and March 1931.

Clyde Russell, was the Principal of WHS. He served as Principal 1924 - 1941 Later, he became well known in the position of Executive Director of the Maine Teachers' Association. To this day, Clyde Russell Scholarships are awarded to deserving high school students.
