Description
The Aquia Creek Landing, Va., wharf is shown with transport and supplies. The Union army used the landing to funnel supplies to the Army of the Potomac. It is located in northern Virginia off the Potomac River.
The Union took control of the landing in February 1863. Its control was contested until then.
This photograph comes from the collections of the Library of Congress.
