Description
Felicia Garant was 4 1/2 years old when she was photographed in Lewiston's "Little Canada" neighborhood, dressed in the habit of the Sisters of Charity, or "Grey Nuns." Her grandmother, Yvonne Bergeron Garant was a talented seamstress, and made the outfit for Felicia, who attended day care and a girls' school managed by the Grey Nuns at the Marcotte Home.
The Marcotte Home, as of 2015, forms part of the St. Marguerite d'Youville Pavillion, a residential care facility. The nearby St. Mary's Hospital was renamed St. Mary's Regional Health Center.
