Description

The parents of Charles Cole of Sebago, who was in Cape Elizabeth in training with Co K of the 25th Maine Infantry, wrote that they were worried about his health and wanted him to come home for a visit at the earliest opportunity.

His father, Benjamin, warned him against signing up for a longer term of service, as the officers wanted to fill their draft with three-year men and offered higher bounties for it. Cole had enlisted for nine months.

His brothers and sisters also wrote comments.
