Description
The white building was originally an auto garage for a car dealership but has been used by Peacock Canning as a warehouse for sardines, urchins, lobster, and rented for cooking and drying and packing sea urchins by ISF Trading, a sea urchin firm. The red building was a smoke shed for Peacock in the 1930s and 1940s, and has been used to process pickled herring, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, clothing (socks and belts) and as a packaging warehouse. These buildings remain in place as of 2012. According to Robert J. “Bob” Peacock II, “the tank is now the swimming pool alongside my mother’s house at North Lubec Corner.”
