Description
The photo was taken from the Steam plant chimney of Pepperell Mills and shows the Dudley block at the corner of Water & Sullivan St. with horse wagons out front. The Dudley Block was built in 1849 and is still standing. On the right of the block is Peirson's Lane named after Revolutionary War veteran Samuel Peirson. His house a 2 1/2 story home in white with front door can be seen second in the back of the two large buildings off Water St. (now gone) Top middle is St. Andre's Church on Bacon St.
The photo was taken from the 251 feet of the Laconia division of Pepperell Mfg. Co. chimney on the day of its completion in 1915
