Description
Phi Nu Omega, the first sorority at Farmington State Normal School, was founded in 1925.
It was both a social organization that sponsored parties, dances, and shows as well as a service group that raised funds for war relief and the Red Cross in the 1930s and 40s, read to the elderly, and collected toys for underpriveleged children.
Phi Nu Omegas, or "friendly, neighborly owls," had a sorority uniform, which was worn every Monday: a white shirt or turtleneck, navy sorority blazer, and navy skirt or slacks. Their sorority crest was worn on the right side of the blazer, over the heart. Their official bird was the owl.
These are the Phi Nu officers of 1966, with their advisor and their owl! They are L. Clark, J. Quirrion, Norma McQuilkin, Karen Larson, J. Toothaker, Merrilyn Merrill, Mildred Carson, C. Dean, Miss Ksionzyk
