House at 31 School Street, Lubec, 1975, 1935

Description

This house was owned by Ursula (Godfrey) Danforth (July 21, 1898-June 9, 2004) and her husband Dr. Earl Danforth. Dr. Danforth reportedly ran a hospital-like health care facility at one point in the house. Mrs. Danforth, a native of South Lubec, graduated from Columbia Law School and entered governmental service in Washington, D.C. Ultimately she was Chief Investigator for the Civil Service Administration.
