Description

The Sparhawk Hotel, or Sparhawk Hall, in Ogunquit was built on Shore Road by Nememiah Jacobs and opened in 1897. Although the grand hotel burned to the ground two years after opening, it was soon rebuilt. Sparhawk Hall featured riding stables accessible to guests and successfully catered to the many tourists attracted to Ogunquit Village in the summer.

The caption reads, "Sparhawk Hotel, Ogunquit, Maine."

The Tichnor Brothers printing company published this type of postcard circa 1938.
