Description

Hotel Vesper was one of many hotels that catered to the summer tourist community in Old Orchard Beach throughout the first half of the 20th century. The hotel was built by Z.H. Griswold in 1905 on the corner of East Surf Street and Aldine Terrace in Old Orchard Beach. It was managed by C.H. Campbell and his wife Kate M. Campbell from 1907 through the 1930s. Advertisements during their tenure boasted modern furnishings and proximity to the beach.

The caption reads, "Hotel Vesper, Old Orchard Beach, Maine."

The Tichnor Brothers printing company published this type of postcard circa 1938.
