Description
Socials, dances, and formals were very popular throughout Farmington State Normal School's history. Holiday dances were a special tradition and a chance for students to practice proper etiquette under the guidelines outlined by the school's policies.
On the early years, etiquette training fell to the teachers, Miss Stone in particular. By the 1940s, the school had a Social Training Committee, which provided guidance on social behavior as well as opportunities, such as dances and teas, to practice. This is the Christmas Formal of 1965.
