Description
Cape Elizabeth Light was previously called Two Lights as the lighthouse was comprised of two towers, instead of one. In 1924 the western station was made inactive and sold to a private party. As of 2012 the eastern station is still an active lighthouse.
Cape Elizabeth Light was added to the National Registry of Historic Places as Two Lights in 1974.
The caption reads, "Two Lights and Cape Elizabeth Life Saving Station, Portland Harbor, Me." This postcard was printed by the Tichnor Brothers printing company as part of their Maine vacation series which was printed from about 1930 - 1945 and endeavored to promote Maine tourism.
