Description
A Tichnor Brothers postcard of Spring Point Ledge Light in Portland from around 1938. The lighthouse was built in 1897 off Fort Preble and electrified in 1934. Due to a breakwater constructed in 1951, the light is now (2013) connected to the land at Fort Preble. In 1998, the Spring Point Ledge Light Trust acquired ownership of the lighthouse.
The caption reads, "Spring Point Ledge Light, Portland Harbor, Maine."
