Description
A Tichnor Brothers postcard of City Hall in Portland from around 1938. After the old city hall was severely damaged by fire in 1866 and 1908, the new city hall was built on the same location.
Architects Carrere and Hastings designed the building, which was completed in 1912. Portland City Hall also houses Merrill Auditorium.
The caption reads, "City Hall, Portland, Me."
