Description
Water Street is central to downtown Skowhegan and has long been one of the town’s busiest streets. In addition to a wide variety of stores, it featured events throughout the 20th century, such as a variety of parades and President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s 1955 motorcade. This image shows the Central Maine Power Company’s office and salesroom, which was located on the south side of Water Street.
The caption reads, "Water Street, Skowhegan, Maine."
The Tichnor Brothers printing company published this type of postcard circa 1938.
