Description

The square by the corner of Main and Bridge in Westbrook was named Vallée Square in 1930 and rededicated in 2009 with a statue of Rudy Vallée. Rudy Vallée, who lived in Westbrook, was a well-known local radio, television, movie, and theater star in the 1920s and 30s. His father owned Vallée’s Pharmacy at the corner of Main Street and Bridge Streets. Rudy worked at both his father’s store and the Star Theater across the street.

The caption reads, "Main Street and Vallee Square, Westbrook, Maine."

The Tichnor Brothers printing company published this type of postcard circa 1938.
