Description
This postcard looks along a section of Main Street in downtown Westbrook circa 1936. Various parts of the city’s Main Street include the library, the Universalist and Westbrook and Warren Congregationalist churches, many residences, and the central shops and businesses. In the 1930s, Main Street was home to the F.W. Woolworth Company Store, McLellan Stores, and an A&P Grocery Store. Much of the Main Street was lined with elm trees, as shown in the image.
The caption reads, "Main Street, entering Westbrook, Maine."
