Description

This postcard shows an aerial view of the Presumpscot River, spanned by the Bridge Street Bridge (a Parker pony truss bridge), into downtown Westbrook. The Warren Congregational Church’s steeple is visible in the background. Building of this church on the corner of Cumberland Street and Warren Avenue was completed in 1869, and the congregation remained active at this site until 1969, later merging with the Westbrook Congregational Church.

The caption reads, "Birdseye view of Westbrook, Maine."

The Tichnor Brothers printing company published this type of postcard circa 1938.
