Description
Cyrus H.K. Curtis (1850-1933) stands in front of the Falmouth Hotel in Portland with his wife Kate. Kate, Cyrus' second wife died in 1932. Cyrus's middle name is Hermann Kotzschmar, he was named after a German organist who lived with the Curtis family for several years.
Cyrus was a native of Portland, but moved to Philadelphia to start the successful Curtis Publishing Company. Cyrus is the donor of the Kotzschmar Memorial Organ, located in Portland's city hall.
