Description
Nurse is weighing child on a blanket covered scale, to determine if the newborn is of a healthy weight. They are located in the Maternity Ward of Maine General Hospital, as can be seen by the cribs in the background. Maine General Hospital was the primary care hospital located in Portland in the late 1800's to mid-1900's before it merged with Maine Eye and Ear Infirmary and Children's Hospital in 1951 to become Maine Medical Center.
