Description
Don Doave was a member of the highly successful, 1926 South Portland High School basketball team. The team was undefeated, but declined to participate in a unique three-game Championship playoff series with Bangor, thereby sacrificing the championship title that year.
South Portland teams were called the "Capers" until the Cape Elizabeth High School was built and took the name. SPHS became known as the "Red Riot."
