Description
Horace W. Shaylor of Portland drew this pencil sketch on July 25 1896.
The drawing depicts a bridge over Chapman Brook, Bethel. This natural landscape is comparable to many of Shaylor's drawings.
Shaylor's son, Horace Jr., photographed this and other of his father's pencil sketches and complied them into a booklet.
Shaylor Sr. also developed and wrote manuals on a system of handwriting.
