Description
The World War Memorial was dedicated on November 11 1924 near the Kittery/Portsmouth inter-state bridge. Featured speakers at the dedication included President of Maine Senate, Frank G. Farrington; Chairman Committee of Veterans General, Albert Greenlaw; Governor Percival P. Baxter; and Department Commander of American Legion, Colonel Albert Beliveau.
The Memorial had a granite base with a bronze statuary. It was dedicated to the soldiers and sailors who served in the World War. Over 2,000 people were in attendance of the dedication.
