Description
Instructions from General Henry Clinton, the commanding officer, to the officer in charge of the British troops being sent to the Penobscot River area to erect a fort and control the rebellious colonists in the area.
The letter is a transcribed copy from the Public Records Office and Royal Institution of Great Britain, made for Joseph Williamson, a lawyer and historian from Belfast, Maine, between 1894 and 1902.
