Description
The Maine State Lottery advertised by the broadside was to be drawn in Portland on Saturday, August 20, 1831.
A participant spending $1 on a ticket had the chance to win $3,000. There was a total of $25,665 in prize money.
The lottery was created for the benefit of the Cumberland and Oxford canal.
