Description
The Town of Lubec erected a new water storage standpipe atop the hill in the village in 1983. Shortly after (possibly in 1984), the old standpipe at “The Ridge” on County Route 189 was removed. That standpipe dated from the early years of the 20th Century when the Lubec municipal water system was developed. A photograph of that standpipe dated 1914 exists.
