Contributed by Sugarloaf Mountain Ski Club through Ski Museum of Maine
Description
This was the official invitation to the Old Fashioned Maine Clambake which was held as part of the 1971 World Cup Ski Races at Sugarloaf. The clambake consisted of the usual fare of Lobsters, Clams and Corn, but also had another Maine specialty, Moose.
The freshly killed Moose was supplied by the Maine Warden Service. At the time there was no hunting season for Moose in Maine, but when one was killed in a vehicle accident, the meat was usually given to an institution.
The Clambake was held in what was known then as the East Wing of the Sugarloaf Base Lodge.
