Description
Tukey's Bridge connected Munjoy Hill and East Deering in Portland. The photo was taken from the Eastern Promenade and shows the neighborhood sitting on Munjoy Hill.
The bridge was named after Lemuel Tukey, a tax collector in the 18th century. Since its creation, Tukey's bridge has been through many iterations. As of 1960, Tukey's bridge is a steel bridge that is part of Interstate 295.
