Description
One of several Fred Johnson photographs of the annual Waterford Winter Carnival, which was started in 1926 by the newly formed Oxford County United Parish. The Winter Carnival events continued to be held annually until the beginning of World War II. This photograph shows the snowshoe race. On the left is part of what is today Melby's Store (2013) and the building at far right was the two-room North Waterford School, today the Post Office (2013).
