Description
During the 1950s and 1960s, the town of Topsham held "Miss Androscoggin" and "Miss Topsham" beauty pageants. In this photo, a 1950s-era "Miss Androscoggin" is helped down from the Androscoggin No. 2 hand engine, which was used by the Topsham Fire Department in fire muster competitions. She is believed to be the daughter of longtime assistant fire chief Chester "Chet" Murray, who served the department for 40 years.
