Description
The crew of the Androscoggin Veteran Firemen's Association and some of their family members pose for a photo at the Old Town hand engine muster competition on July 25, 1965. Fire Departments gathered for such competitions regularly, to see whose hand engines could shoot water the farthest. The Androscoggin Company's engine, the Androscoggin No. 2, or "Andy," won numerous competitions in Maine and regionally.
