Description
The Saccarappa Lodge #11 of The Westbrook chapter of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.), was instituted in 1844. Twenty three members founded the lodge, but membership quickly rose to 150 by 1845.
During the Civil War membership plummeted to zero, yet the order never formally disbanded, and the chapter was revived in 1866.
After revival of the chapter membership thrived and construction of a new lodge was completed in 1883. That lodge was demolished in 1975. As of 2013, the lodge building is located on the New Gorham Road in Westbrook.
