Description
In 1896 Otis Falls Pulp & Paper Mill and other mills in the community of Livermore Falls came under the control of Mr. Chisholm. Through the leadership of Hugh Chisholm and a few others, the International Paper Company was formed and absorbed over 20 independent paper & pulp mills.
In less than a year Chisholm became president of International Paper Company and continued in that office until 1907. It was about this time that the Otis Mill became one of the largest newspaper print mills in the world.
