Description
A.H. Benoit & Co. had stores in Portland, Westbrook, Lewiston, Brunswick, Biddeford and Ogunquit.
Arthur Henri Benoit formed a partnership with his employer, C.H. Webber, in 1890 and opened a men's clothing store in Westbrook.
He later bought out C.W. Webber, and opened other clothing stores throughout the state. At one point, Benoit's was the largest men's clothing store in Maine.
