Description
Senator Margaret Chase Smith, who served in Congress from 1940 to 1973, makes President Dwight Eisenhower and Governor Edmund Muskie laugh during her speech at the Skowhegan Fair Grounds.
After arriving at the fair grounds Senator Smith introduced the vacationing President to the large crowd of 6,000 people waiting to hear the his remarks.
