Description
This photograph depicts several quarrymen at work as well as the intricate network of ropes, bridges, ladders, hoists, etc, that the quarrymen used to navigate their way around the pits.
Newspaper articles from the Piscataquis Observer from October 1909 to March of 1910 state that during the winter months in the quarry, there were 8 serious accidents and 1 death. According to the newspaper, the quarry worker that died was from Finland and his wife and daughter were about to depart for the United States.
