Description
This photograph shows an unknown quarry employee moving a very heavy piece of slate onto a rail car to be processed in the mill behind him. By using a series of chains and pulleys the larger pieces of slate could be moved into the mill by employees. This rail car would then be pushed into the mill where it would be unloaded onto the cutting table to begin the process to ready it for the customer.
This photograph is number nine in a series of nine.
