Description
This image shows a view of Newbold Cottage, also known as Sea Flat Cottage, located in Northeast Harbor from the 1920s. The cottage was designed by Meller, Meigs & Howe in 1920 for Arthur Newbold of Philadelphia.
Meller & Meigs designed an addition for this cottage in 1929. The drawings of the addition are in the collections of the Philadelphia Athenaeum. The Newbolds were a banking family from Philadelphia who owned and ran an investment company, which began as the W.H. Newbold's Son & Co. in 1844.
