Description
The Abbott House was built in the early 1900's by William W. Abbott. This large home boasted panoramic views of Dixfield Village as it sat atop Abbott Hill on the lower end of Main Street heading toward the towns of East Dixfield and Wilton.
William Abbott served a tax collector and constable for the Town of Dixfield, as well as owned and bred race horses. This house burned in 1933, then owned by Stanley and Isa Swan, and was not rebuilt.
