Description
Capt. Theodore Lincoln Jr. of Co. F of the 6th Maine Regiment filed a special requisition for his company of five axes and handles, five uniforms, trousers, shirts, stockings, rubber blankets and other items.
The 6th Maine, mustered into service in Portland in July 1861, had most recently fought in the Battle of Fredericksburg in December 1862. Union troops suffered heavy casualties in the battle.
The regiment was in winter quarters at Potomac Creek, Virginia.
Lincoln, of Dennysville, was 30 when he enlisted on July 15, 1861. He mustered out on July 15, 1864.
