Description
James L. Hunt, the son of Joseph O. and Roxanna Hunt of Bath, wrote to his parents from Newburyport, Massachusetts, where he worked at the Russell & Walker foundry, about his dissatisfaction with his job, saying he had scarcely had a day of rest, except Sundays, for five months, going to work with the sunrise and working until dark, with an hour meal break.
He wrote that he longed to return to Bath "with the old gondola beneath my feet."
