Description
This image shows the steamboat Monhegan after it has left the Jameson & Wotton Wharf in Friendship and is headed for Portland, where it will drop off passengers and freight.
During the summers the Monhegan provided service Monday through Saturday to several inns and a popular boys' camp the early 1900s. Passengers from New York or Boston could connect to the Monhegan in Portland at 7 a.m. and arrive in Friendship at 1 p.m.
