Description
A postcard view of the Falls View Hotel on Bridge Street in Rumford. In 1938 the hotel was purchased by Peter Malelis and his wife.
On New Year's Eve of 1939 the hotel was destroyed by fire and with it five people lost their life. Those who perished in the fire were Mrs. Malelis and her children Mildred, Virginia, and Georgia, as well as a hotel guest named Rush Rogers, aged 48. Peter Malelis died on September 21, 1945.
