Description

In this postcard image of a fishing boat at dock in South Bristol, cotton nets for ground fishing are drying on Irving Clifford's wharf in the Eastern Gut. Large reels were mounted on the dock for this purpose. Once dry and untangled, nets would have debris picked out of them before being stored in wooden boxes until the next ground fishing trip.
