Description
Pvt. Daniel Webster "Web" Brown of East Baldwin wrote to his brother Ephraim about his activities as a soldier in Co. A of the 17th Maine Infantry Regiment.
Brown wrote that since the regiment left Fort Preble, they marched 230 miles "over hills and through valleys."
Brown discussed various people he knew and told his brother he would like to have a pair of boots made for him.
