Description
The Continental Paper Bag Company was incorporated in Rumford on May 28, 1899, and factory operations began in August of that year, but the company recognized 1900 as its official first year in business.
Brown paper bags were produced by the company via more than 150 bag machines. When operating at full capacity, these machines produced 1,000,000 bags per day.
The mill was dismantled in 1936 and all equipment removed from the Rumford area.
The booklet depicted here celebrates the fifth anniversary of the mill.
