Description
Sarah Tarbox's oldest sister, Mary, writes to tell her that a Richmond teaching position she inquired about is already filled. Mary (b. 06-28-1809) is the wife of Daniel Webber, a farmer in Richmond.
Mary and Sarah Tarbox were two of the 12 children of Mary "Polly" and Samuel Tarbox, a wealthy landowner, town official, fishing merchant and gentleman farmer in Westport Island Maine. Polly and Samuel Tarbox were married in Richmond in 1805, and moved to Westport after purchasing the land that became known as the Samuel Tarbox farm in January, 1806.
