Description
This panoramic photograph shows the steamboat Mineola heading east toward the gut between Friendship Long Island and Garrison Island. It is heading away from the Jameson & Wotton Wharf, where it is a favorite among local residents.
Given the poor roads to Friendship, steamboats provided a safe and efficient way to carry passengers and goods to and from the town.
