Description
A portait photograph of Sherman Jameson (1864-1955), from about 1900. Jameson, a fifth generation Friendship native, formed a partnership with his friend and neighbor Walter Wotton to form the Jameson and Wotton Wharf in 1897.
Jameson preferred being on the water and handled the buying and selling the fishermen's catch, and Wotton took care of the books and ran the store on the wharf.
Their collaborative efforts were so successful that the Jameson & Wotton Wharf was listed on Dun and Bradstreet.
